E-WMS - Stock Transaction codes

E-WMS

Introduction

This document describes the meaning and usage of E-WMS Stock Transaction codes.

Description

E-WMS Stock Transaction codes can be scanned by warehouse employees as reasons why stock has been issued or received when using E-WMS Stock Transactions. These reasons could be for example 'demo sample' or 'damaged'. When not using these codes, general ledger accounts or project codes can be entered manually on the hand terminal to make distinction between the reasons of stock corrections. When using a stock transaction code, the G/L account and/or project is already pre-configured in Globe and is not visible anymore on the hand terminal, and the warehouse employee is not able to browse in available G/L codes or projects. Stock Transaction Codes are available from E-WMS ASP update 397 and in older E-WMS 'CAB'.

Configuration

The usage of stock transaction codes can be enabled in menu System, General, Settings, WMS Stock Transactions.

When this setting is enabled, a stock transaction code can be entered when scanning a stock transaction. Input of G/L account or project is always skipped, and input of a stock transaction code is not mandatory.
When this setting is disabled, a G/L account or project code can be entered when scanning a stock transaction, depending on the hand terminal settings.

Maintenance of stock transaction codes

Stock transaction codes can be maintained in menu System, E-WMS, Stock transaction codes

Press New to create a new code, or select a code and press Open to maintain an existing code.

In this case, code 'BROKEN' is configured to register 'broken' products to a specific G/L account (4100 "Stock corrections - damaged goods")

Code 'DEMOLT' is configured to register stock corrections specifically for samples for sales manager "L. Taylor" by using generic G/L account 4110 "Stock corrections - sales samples".

Procedure

Once the usage of stock transaction codes has been enbaled, the first input when starting E-WMS Stock Transactions will be "STTcode".
Input of G/L account and project is always disabled when Stock Transactions Codes are activated, regardless the scanner settings for Stock Transactions.

first scan: STT (Stock Transaction) code 'BROKEN' is entered or scanned and visible in the screen header, in
the scanning screen

After reading back in Globe, in menu WMS, To be processed, Inventory Transactions, Control Center,  the G/L account and project linked to the stock transaction Code, are used in this transaction.

The usage of Stock Transaction Codes in the warehouse could be made easier by using a scan card, for example:
